Things Are Heating Up

I'm definitely busy these days that's for sure. Its a lot of fun, even if my brain can't always handle it.

I couldn't have done it all without Lucy the hands behind my addled brain. She has created some beautiful pieces for the mini sessions,  my favourite being the delicate lace crowns. Lucy is full of fantastic ideas and bursting with projects, and she's also a dab hand at pretty much anything she puts her mind to.

Below is the photo Lucy took of her beautiful creations and here is an example of how they look in practice on the lovely April.

I'm looking forward to future projects with the talented Lucy be it her ideas or my own.

Barney's Bookshop Mini-Session

We had a blast running round after energetic Barney at the first mini session. He was sporting a tie made by Lucy Hesketh who is creating little accessories for the mini-sessions. We're working on lace crowns, pom pom frilled skirts, headbands and bow ties.
It was amazing how many lovely pictures we got of him in the session, especially with all his running around. It was with the help of a bit of bribery and his mum telling him story's that we got him to sit still for some of them which was lovely for me to be a part of (the story telling rather than the bribery).
Barney really enjoyed seeing himself on the back of the camera and liked thinking of who was going to get to see the pictures (his Brother, his Grandad and his Aunties and Uncle). All in all it was a lot of fun and they got to spend some time looking at the lovely selection of children's books at Ebb & Flo and also relaxing in the den.

Here are some of my favourite pictures from the session.

Back to School

September to me is more "New Year" than the 1st of January.  Things seem to start up in September and our inner body clocks revolve around term times that are maybe no longer part of our actual schedule.
This time however I am fully involved in back to School! I begin my Masters and start my pre-school children's portraits. So Happy new year to me.
My resolutions for this new year are
-Let go of fear
-Make goals
-Find out anyway how to get a parking permit for university! (public transport and camera gear is a no no for me!)

Wish me Luck for tomorrow! My first pre-school mini session.

Furs and Lace and Pearls

Lucy and I hit the fabric shops for supplies today and struck gold. I found loads of stuff to use in the Bookshop Sessions. My palette is very neutral as I'm wanting to create classic but beautiful imagery which focuses on the children. I'm getting more and more excited!.

Lucy took home the fabric to start working on the baby headbands, skirts and bow ties and I cannot wait to see her creations take shape.

Business Brunch (any excuse really)

I am super excited to be working with Lucy on some special creations for my photo shoots. She's a master at making anything and making it beautifully. We're working on some accessories and clothing that can be used especially in the mini sessions to make the experience and the images extra special.

I think Lucy can be summed up by the cake she picked really. Sweet and deliciously pretty (oh yeah talented, intelligent and funny, the cake says that too).
